Office Policies
Please refrain from wearing products with a fragrance or odour.
Perfume, cologne, hand cream, deodorant, body lotion, after-shave, cigarette smoke, and various hair products, etc. - ANYTHING WITH A SCENT - can trigger allergies, ranging from mild to very severe. This is essential to safeguard the health of other patients and those who work at Halcyon Health.
Appointments
My goal is to provide quality medical care in a timely manner. In order to do so, appointment policies are required. These policies enable optimal utilization of available appointments for patients in need of medical care.
Late Arrival Policy:
Please make every effort to be on time, or even a little bit early to your appointment, to ensure that you will have as much time as you have reserved to work with me. I strive to minimize waiting time, so in order to be fair to other patients, your appointment will end at the pre-arranged time regardless of when you arrive.
Cancellation of an Appointment:
Appointment cancellation requires 24 hours prior notice.
In order to be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please be courteous and call promptly if you are unable to attend an appointment. This time will be reallocated to someone who is in need of treatment. If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, you are required to call at least 24 hours in advance, and calling early in the day is appreciated. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another person the possibility to have access to needed health care.
How to Cancel Your Appointment:
To cancel appointments, please visit https://drtara.clickbook.net or call 647-648-7099. If you do not reach me, you may leave a detailed voicemail that includes your full name and phone number. If you have a preferred date/time for rescheduling your appointment, please be sure to leave that information, too. Please do not leave a text message for cancellations.
Late Cancellations:
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) will be considered as a "no-show".
No-Show Policy:
A "no-show" is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling it in an adequate manner. No-shows inconvenience those individuals who need access to medical care in a timely manner. A failure to present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the patient's chart as a no-show. The first time there is a no-show, there will be no charge to the patient. Any additional no-show will result in the full visit fee billed to the patient's account.
Payment
In this office, the love of helping and serving others is first and foremost. In order to continue to have the opportunity to help and serve others, efficient operations are necessary. Because that's the case, the office adheres to the following business policy:
Payment Policy:
Payment for services, lab testing and dispensary items is required at the time of service, in the form of Interac, Mastercard, Visa or cash (exact change only). You will be notified of all associated costs upon recommendation of specific health products and/or laboratory tests. Please note that you are free to choose where to purchase recommended products, but that certain professional product lines are only available through naturopathic doctors. You will be given a receipt at the time of payment for insurance purposes.
Naturopathic Care Coverage:
Most extended health care plans offer coverage for naturopathic care. Coverage varies between providers and plans. It is best to check with your benefits provider for specific details. Your naturopathic care can also be claimed on your personal tax return. Speak to your accountant for more information.
Acupuncture Coverage:
Many extended health care plans offer an additional coverage category for acupuncture. Coverage varies between providers and plans. It is best to check with your benefits provider for specific details.
